Wearable, Teachable and Learnable Internet of Things: The Micro Bit Project

Creative digital solutions enters its fourth year in delivering research, workshops and teaching and learning in science, engineering and art we would like to share our first article as part of ‘Ahead of the curve’ series.  The research undertaken as part of piloting early versions of the BBC Micro:bit is examined. The research provides theoretical background to the scaling-up challenge and the pedagogical considerations and framework in which to investigate these challenges when learning about Internet of Things and the tangible world of making. This includes a synthesis of diverse research that substantiates further the broadening participation of teaching and learning about CS and engineering that can benefit from learning about IoT.
